Bible: Emphasis is placed on relating Christian faith to everyday life experiences and decisions, memorizing scripture, presenting Jesus Christ as Savior and Friend, developing Christian character and an awareness of spiritual needs in our world.

 

Chapel: Emphasis is on student’s involvement in a weekly worship environment with exposure to practical Christian beliefs.

 

 

Reading/Language Arts: Emphasis is on readiness, learning beginning sounds, short and long vowel sounds, vocabulary, comprehension and study skills. The student will be extensively involved in written and oral language, reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.

 

Mathematics: Emphasis is on recognition and use of number values 1-100, measurements and spatial concepts, time measurement concepts, denominations of coins and use, and addition combinations to 10. The student will gain an understanding of God’s orderly system to solve problems.

 

Social Studies: Emphasis is on developing respect for others and group cooperation, appreciating holidays and their meaning from a Christian perspective, appreciating and learning about different aspects of a community, respect for country and Christian heritage, respect for God’s creation and environment. 

 

Science: Emphasis is on how wonderfully God has made our bodies, different types of animals and plants, characteristics of weather and seasons, and God’s plan for these areas.

 

Physical Education: Emphasis is on age-appropriate physical development and fitness, competence in useful physical skills, enjoyment of recreation, developing a desirable self-concept through success and applying fairness and cooperation in group situations. 

 

Music: Emphasis is on participating in group singing, rhythmic activities and musical games, and developing an appreciation and enjoyment of music. 

 

Art: Emphasis is on developing skills, appreciation and inventiveness in the visual arts.
