Bible: Emphasis is placed on daily Christian walk, Christian character traits, memorization of God’s Word and putting faith into action through Missions. Weekly Bible memory verses given as an oral grade. 

 

Chapel: Emphasis is on student’s involvement in worshiping God through music, participation, and exposure to practical Christian beliefs. 

 

 

Reading/Language Arts: Emphasis is on development of reading skills for information and entertainment, skill development (written and oral) in listening, thinking, speaking, writing and reading, and the transition from manuscript to cursive writing. The student will learn beginning dictionary skills, verb usage, synonyms, antonyms, homonyms, and beginning parts of speech. Book reports oral and written.

 

Mathematics: Emphasis is on mastery of basic addition and subtraction facts, memorization of multiplication and division facts and problems, measurement problems, beginning equations and fractions. 

 

Social Studies: Emphasis is on U.S. History and geography, study of the lives and events surrounding historical figures in America history and the way their faith in God shaped their decision. Students will memorize U.S. states and capitals.

 

Science: Emphasis is on earth and physical science and how they relate to God’s world. 

 

Physical Education: Emphasis is on age-appropriate physical development and fitness, competence in useful physical skill, enjoyment of recreation, developing a desirable self-concept through success and applying fairness and cooperation in group situations.

 

Computers: Emphasis on beginning keyboarding, writing, and math skills.

 

Library: Emphasis is on selecting and reading good books and library skills for locating and checking out reading materials.

 

Art: Emphasis is on observing and experiencing art in many forms.
